Here's a picture of Sam's last day buck. We'd hunted our butts off all day Saurday and Sunday in the rain, sleat, snow and fog with just this little 3 point to show for it. He will be tastey! :D

The realy sad thing is that when I got home just before dark Sunday eavening there was a 30 inch three point mulie buck with LOTS of mass standing out in our pasture. And no I didn't shoot him because my tag wasn't good for this area. Yeah, go ahead call me chicken, but I didn't have to explain to the little Mrs. why I had a court date. I get enough jury summons as it is.

Outstanding.... what's the caliber and a good call on the home buck!

Sure is a pretty face on that buck - even though a 3 point, would make a nice mount.

Sam shot the buck with his iron sighted Ruger #1 in 300 Win mag. The Ruger in 45 long Colt was just for show although he is a better than average pistol shot. He's realy in to the lever action and single shot stuff. He also shoots IDPA with a Kimber 45 ACP.

Yeah ranch dog: I want to let him get bigger and hopefully he'll be back next year. I have a heck of a time deciding which area to get my tag for , around the house or out at the mine. There's quality bucks both places but not very many around the house this year.

Nice to see someone shot a deer without wearing camo. I'm as guilty as others who fork out the dough for camo gear. But no more. Camo is a big marketing ripoff. Nice hunt.

That's a real nice buck, and I'd take the cold and rain over swatting mosquitos anyday while hunting.

Nice buck! And, if we were always successful, we'd have to call it "harvesting", instead of hunting! I wish you would have "shot" that 30-incher with a camera so we could see it!

Thanks for the pix! Glad you had some success.... that deer will be very tender vittles through the winter!

God bless,

shawn : I tried to "shoot" himbut here just wasn't enough light left. Plus I was in a hurry and forgot how to run the "smart" camera. Notice I didn't call the camera stupid.

Here's the shot that I did get of the herd as it crossed the county road. you can just tell that there are deer in it. Icould see him real good thru the scope on my .223 tho.
