I have a Winchester Model `94 Trails End Hunter in 38-55. What diameter bullet would be the best, I've seen them listed from .375 to .380. right now I have some from "Ammo Direct" they shoot fine but I have no idea what their diameter is. Thanks for any & all info

Got a wide variation in bore diameters, with .378-.379" being the more common...but have measured some old barrels at .381" and one as small as .377". Jacketed bullets are lot more tolerant of being undersized for the bore than lead (but certainly a lot less fun).
Dn't have much choice but to have it sluged and measured if you want to know for sure...or pay a gunsmith to do it if you cannot.

I have a '94 Legacy in 38-55. I called Winchester and the rep said that the bore/groove dia. is .379 and the lands are .373 dia. According to the experts if you are using lead bullets .001 or .002 over bore diameter would be ideal.
