All of my Marlins sport Bushnell Banner 1.5-4.5x32 scopes. Never had a problem, except one when the ring on the fast focus ring cracked on a brand new scope. I sent it in to Bushnell 2 months ago and their website shows its receipt and says that it will be repaired under warranty. Great, but it has been 2 months and their website still says "waiting for repair part". I wonder where the part has to come from....I guess that they don't make the parts/scopes in the U.S.? Called Bushnell and they have no clue when the scope will be fixed and returned. Can't believe that they wouldn't have a replacement part or scope. Very disturbing.......

Unless something happens quickly, I think that my future scope purchases will be of another brand that, hopefully, has adequate customer service. In today's environment where world class companies strive to grow sales with superior customer service, you would think that Bushnel would know better.

I got one of those scopes on a NEF .45-70. I initially liked the scope, but for low light hunting here in SC, it has been disappointing!

Have you been pretty stiff with them about just replacing the scope with another and not waiting for the part? I mean doing it politely but insisting on a replacement rather than a repair.

The one I sent back several years ago was replaced in 5 days. I had turret adjustment problems. Disappointing to say the least... I have 15 of them.

A fellow over on Marlinowners has been doing a comparison of a lot of different scopes and this Bushnell has faired very well. I shot a hog at 100-yards this week at 10 pm with the full moon overhead. I've always thought it low light abilities very good.

I had great service from them. Replaced, rather than repaired, the scope.

My repair had the same wesite entry. I figured the whole scope must have come from CHina...that's one part. BUt it only took about 2-3 weeks for me to get the new scope.

Have you talked w/ them?

Dan444,

Another question. Are they considering this a repair under warranty (the product's fault) or are they considering it damage or your end? Just curious what they are up to.

Talked with Bushnell today and they are doing the replacement under warranty....they will be sending me a new scope. Unfortunately, they don't have any in stock, but are receiving a new batch in the next 2 -3 weeks and will send me one when they take receipt. I really like these scopes on my Marlins and will continue with them. Well, it is what it is....

So, I'm going to take the BBanner 1.5-4.5X32 off my 336CS-35 Rem and put it on the 444, so that I can use the 444 for deer hunting this week. I'll be firing BTB 290g LFNGC's at those whitetails....that'll thump 'em good.

Best to all & thanks for the responses.

Dan
