I've now narrowed my varmint/target rifle selection down to these (2) models. I really like the accutrigger, but I know I can probably get the Remmy's trigger redone for about $50

Other than this, which would you consider to be the better choice/most accurate of these models ?

Thanks

While the Savage will serve you well, I prefer the Remington, simply because of ... well ... everything. I like the way the Remington looks, feels, and shoots ... I like it's weight and balance in the target rifles styles they make ... I like that they have the most aftermarket parts of any rifle make/model out there - so you can change/upgrade your rifle without too much trouble.

Both rifles will drive tacks with little effort. Both will be made better with the same basic work (bedding, floating, trigger adjustments, and hand loads) ...

Now having said all that, I'd never tell someone to buy rifle "X" just because I like it. Go to the shop, handle both rifles, and see which one "feels" best to you ... and then buy it. You'll be happiest that way.
