I would like to get the bolt out of my old 94 so I can clean the 100 years worth of crud out of her. I dont want to take it totally apart just enough to get to all surfaces of the action.
Also, would it be a good idea to take the mag tube off the clean between the barrel and the mag tube? And what about under the forearm?
Thanks

On the winchester site there's a section with manuals. In these manuals is explaned how to clean for normal use. I hope this is of any help to you.

Here are a couple of links to get you started.
Of the two NRA links the first gives you a parts breakdown and the second the take down instructions.
You might pre lube all of your screws. The last link discusses proper fitting screw drivers. If you have a stuck screw post agin and we can talk about that. Once you have had a model 94 apart it will take you about 15 minutes to take a flat spring model apart, about 20 minutes for a coil spring model and add another five minutes for a cross bolt safety. It is much easier than it looks.
