I am looking to buy a Marlin 17 cal. and i need to know what gun out of the 17 Mach 2 or the 17 Hornady Mag. Rimfire shoots faster and harder?


The 17M2 is based on the .22LR case...the .17HMR is based on the .22mag. case. The differnce in speed and power is about the same as comparing the .22LR and the .22mag. The .17HMR is the faster by a wide margin.
