Has anyone heard of this round, Seems to be a 7.62x54 necked up. The Saiga line of rifles are going to be imported in it. I cant find much only that it is probably a 9.3 diameter bullet at 655 meters per second.

I think the loads for this were like a 230gr bullet running in the 2100-2200 fps range...going from memory here so bear with me. Rimmed case similar in construction to the 7.62x54R but I don't recall if they are simply necked up or if the shoulder needs to be re-formed too. If you can use 7.62x54R brass, you got it made all except for the dies in which you have to get custom or from a foreign source?

One thing you need to check on is if this is in fact a 53mm or 54mm long case, some of these metric cal's have been offered in a little different length to prevent interchanging, using a case 1mm longer in a 1mm shorter chamber can be dangerous. Also need to check as to what the proper bullet diameter is too.

Lot's of children of the 7.62x54 were developed in Finland. Everything from 6.5 to 11.7 and everything in between. I suspect the 9x53 is just another one. BTW, the 7.62x54R is known as the 7.62x53R in Finland.

Might be the 9.3mm Lapua. Mentioned in an older article featuring Jim Carmichael & friends hunting red stag in Soviet Russia.

Your local librarian can order the article for you with this info:
Gun Digest 1980 edition.
Russia's Red Forest by John Amber.
Pages 228-235

Performance is compared to 35 Remington. All the hunters "tagged out" with exceptional stags.

Thanks for the info guys. I'll keep looking. The rifle looks good but why bother with a 35 rem clone? Hope its more powerful than that.
