As you guys may remember my son is a Marine in Iraq. We hear from him at least monthly by satt. phone and sometimes a little more often. He can't say a lot due to the nature of operations and security but he is pretty busy. We think he has earned promotion to Lance Corperal by now but the web site for his company has never been updated so we are not sure. We have sent a lot of care packages and he has a lot of comforts that he asked for. He don't ask for much. He will be home in April. He wanted to stay for a second tour but he was denied. They like em to come home the first time but will let them stay for the second and third tour if they want. We are glad for that. Thanks so much for your interest and prayers during this time.

Will pray for his safe trip home and for all those in harms way. Make sure he knows how proud we are of him and thankful for what he is doing.

Chief,
Your son's desire for a second tour speaks volumes about his character and courage. Don't hear the news media mention stuff like this too often either...just gloom and doom. Can't see why someone would want to return if they thought nothing good was being accomplished, so this is encouraging.
Thanks for keeping us up to date, and will be praying for his safe return.

Chief,
Like Lee Greenwood says: Proud to be an American. We are all proud of your son. You must be bustin' at the seams with pride.
If you have a mind to, please post or send a PM with his address and I will send him a few items. Maybe you could indicate what his likes and dislikes are. Also, if he could disclose the names of some of his friends that don't get many/any CARE packages, I will see to it that they do.
God Speed to your Son.
