I called the boys at Four Seasons Firearms and was told that the last shipment of Yugo M48s that came in were issued. The bores show some ware.
As I am maniac about fresh rifling they did not recommend them to me, but did say they have two Schmidt Rubin K-31 7.5 x 55mm Swiss.

They say the out sides of the rifles are dinged and discolored, but the bores and actions are fresh and crisp.
If the weather is good this weekend I am taking my Savage BVSS 112 .223Rem to the range, if the weather is bad this weekend I am taking my debit card to the Four Seasons.

These rifles are becoming very popular around here. They shoot very well. Good sights are also available for them and with target sights these Swiss rifles shoot better than many new rifles.
Be aware that at least one Graff and Son case has failed in the primer pocket and dumped gas into the action and back toward the shooters eyes. The Swiss rifle handled this event better than our earl Springfields did. This is a rare failure with modern manufactured brass and interesting for that fact. Just a good reminder for all of us to wear eye protection and inspected our brass - although to be fair, I do not think a visual inspection would have given any warning of this event.

mike_a,
According to the website listed, the Swiss K31s were issued and show stock wear. I have several and the bores tend to be excellent, but they have seen use.
The Model 48s may be OK, it depends on the actual condition of the bore. All the best...

I was able to make it to the Four Seasons yesterday and after staring down the muzzle for some time I bought one the Schmidts, and a bunch of the GP 11 ammo. The stocks were chewed up, but the rifling looked pronounced and the machining is impressive. When the bolt is locked there is no play in it or the safety ring, and the bolt itself show no sigh of misuses.
With any luck I should be able to make it to the range some time in the next two weeks.
When I would see some members of my club shooting these old guns I would wonder; why not just get a new hi end gun and make one hole without any sweat. As I was rubbing some oil into the Schmidt's dry stock I got the answer to that question. For a shooter, shooting these classic guns is like Jay Leno driving one of his classic cars.

Now you've got it, Mike.....exactly. Before I began mucking about with surplus rifles (Yugoslav Mausers) I was bored to death with all of my "modern" rifles. I still enjoyed shooting and so forth...but the hardware had, for me, about as much appeal as a kitchen appliance. All of that has changed. I find these old rifles fascinating...and a joy to work on.
Congratulations on the K31, by the way. Usually, they are great shooters. I hope that yours will be, as well.
