Hi, newby to this forum. Just wondering if the t/c contender triggers are adjustable for weight of pull/creep?
Bought a used one, super 14" .222 barrell, scoped it, bore-sighted it, etc. ready to pop it, been wondering about the trigger.
I've had several contedners, and it seems like theirs were better than this one?
Thanks, SL.

G2 or original Contender ?
If you go to
www.bellmtcs.com
Mike has a pictorial that shows in detail how to make adjustments for Encores and G2s (the process and parts layout are identical...albeit the Encore uses larger parts). Not difficult at all.
For original Contenders you can adjust creep and overtravel quite easy with the set screws in the trigger guard....adjust the weight of pull should be done by an experienced person. Mike Bellm can do that as well..

Hello SKB2706....mine is the original contender, not the G2 version....I THINK? G2 is relatively recent, yes?
Mine looks like the ones I had maybe 15 years ago....
with the arrow-style firing pin selector on top of hammer....
I don't have the manual, either.....
Which screw is creep, which is overtravel?
Weight of pull is not adjustable, then? Takes spring changes, not a screw-adjust thing?
I've done quite a bit of trigger tinkering, just not on a contender.....
Thanks, Steve.
The screw on the top of the trigger is the one that would adjust creep, the one on the trigger gaurd is for overtravel. The actual weight adjustment is by stoning or spring modification/replacement. www.bullberry.com also does trigger work on the Contender, I think it's a $25 job, and the turnaround is very fast...just another option.

Thanks a lot, men. I adjusted my creep last night, top screw, and it helped quite a bit, dry fired it some and it's quite a bit better.
I'll shoot it some, and might figger out how to do something with the spring weight.....
Steve.
