I remember a few years ago reading about an India Co. producing new Lee-Enfield like rifles in .308 Win.

Dose anyone have any info on this.

Not a company, the Indian government. Made at Ishapore arsenal, the rifle is an updated (somewhat) and strengthened No1 Mk III, and designated the MK 2A. caliber is not .308 Winchester, but 7.62x51 NATO. Pressure levels are not quite the same, with .308 Winchester runing a bit higher. I shoot only 7.62c51 NATO or equivalent handloads thru mine.
