Welcome to Shooters Forum. The .30-06 is my favorite caliber. You can load it for anything from Varmints to Bears. I've used and reloaded .30-06's since I was a kid, and that has been a few years ago. Again Welcome to the Forum and you can get a lot of Info and have fun posting here. Nice bunch here. :D

SHY_BEAR welcome to the forum. Lots of folks like the 30-06 and rightly so. Got to say I've only had one. Got magnumites when younger and pretty much stayed sick with it for a long time.

I started out with the then new 308 Norma magnum and finally went head over heals for Remington's 8mm magnum.

Got to say the longest shot on a game animal I ever made was with an 06 in Alaska. It was a Dahl Sheep at a little over six hundred yards. The bullet gods were with me that day and I brought it home.

I've now added a nice cousin of the 06 to my safe in the form of a 280 Remington mountian rifle.

I don't know how close to the King ranch you are in Mt Enterprise but take a look at the nice deer Ranch dog posted a pix of from down there.

Again welcome and join in the discussions, you'll have fun.

Yup - any shooter of the '06 is more than welcome here. Need a few more in camp to outnumber the .270 crowd! :D

With the '06 coming up on it's century birthday in a few days, we should be getting some lively discussions on this cartridge and all the spin-offs.

Now kdub, don't start up that .270 v.s. .30-06 business again. :p I'm almost afraid to say I've got a .30-06.

Welcome aboard, ShyBear.

Bye
Jack

Shy_Bear ,
Don't let kdub fool you, he has a corner on the 6.5 Swede market all sewn up, and is hesitant in telling newcommers. I guess he just is afraid they might buy one before he can get ahold of it. :D :D
Welcome to the forum. It's the best Gun related forum on the internet.

OOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHH Boy here we go again. Not another 30-06 vs. 270 thread. I have a 1917 Remington Enfield 06 Imp. does that make me a bad person?

And a hearty welcome SHY BEAR. Don't hesitate to share your knowlege and opinions on the 30-06 or any other cartridge for that matter. I too have found this forum to be a very informative place to shoot the breeze about guns, shooting and hunting.
