Where has all this ammo gone? I have been trying to find it everywhere, then I find t-22 target is scarce. I scored the last brick at Sheels today. As I am new to target 22 shooting, and catching the posts on different 22 ammo I wanted to try these reasonably priced ammo.
I shoot 44's and 45acp mostly and am well aware of the cost difference between the center fire and rimfire even reloading. However a reloader can have some control.
My ? is what is a good accurate 22 target ammo on the over all?

I grab several bricks of whatever is on sale and that is usually Federal Lightnings, Remington Thunderbolts, Winchester Dynapoints or Wildcats. My Remington Model 581s are bolt actions and they are not fussy about what I feed them. All the best...

I've had a good run out of CCI,over the years but these days I'm finding that there is not a great deal of differance between the cheaper brands of .22 ammo . I got a Brick of PMX a while back & found it to be as accurate out of My .22's .I suppose at the end of the day it depends on wether you want ammo just for plinking or match grade stuff on what to look for :D .
We still get the full Range of .22 Lr from Winchester over here in Aus as it is localy produced as well as several generic brands from winchester . Bushman ,Diamond,Rabbit ammo .

Dynapoint LR ammo was discontinued last fall. It was largely a "promotional" item sold through Wal-mart and K-mart....

I have found Federal Gold Medal Target #711B to be a reasonable compromise load. Is about $25 per brick and shoots better out of my sporter than the bulk stuff. I can't justify using the "high end" stuff in a sport rifle. I don't compete with anyone but myself. This stuff will give me honest 1 inch at 55 yards ten shots. Bulk stuff will be closer to 1 1/2 inch.
That is about all I expect from this rifle.

I asked the sportingoods manager at the Bimart (kinda like a mini wally world only better) about the dyna points today and she told me that Wincherster is moving thier manufacturing facilitys right now, they are having trouble getting any thing from Winchester right now, she said they should reapere shortly.
Thats what I heard.
