I got my film camera pics developed from the season. Bear with me if some have been posted by digital before. My oldest son and I spent a cold 2 days in the woods Thurs. and Friday. Lots of sign but no sightings. The pics are the deer I shot this year on our 300 Acre lease in the midlands of S.C.

The unicorn and the eye shot are not mine. The eye shot was from a ladder stand at a little over 100 yds. He swears he was shooting for the eye. He had taken all previous deer he shot this year in the neck, so I believe him.

It was a fun year. I took all three of my deer with the 1894 Marlin.

Looks like a real good meat season, Chief - can't knock having a freezer full of choice venison!

Good to see the '94 hard at work and all your efforts rewarded! Should be some nice eating!

y'all got that right. We have been enjoying ven. for some time now and a guy at work even made a lazagna last week from my meat and sausage. It was enjoyed by all.

It was a fun season and I have a different attitude going into the off season too. I am looking forward to a lot of shooting.

Church has been delayed and hour but I still have to roust the troops. Merry Christmas to all!

Chief, please don't mention that it was "cold" hunting in SC when your thickest hunting clothing is a long-sleeved T-shirt. Thanks.

You have a point there Charlie. It was only 27 degrees that night and I was in a -10 degree bag but I guess my thermastate was hung up. I got the chills and did not recover for a couple days. My son was cold too but he is younger and he was in a -30 degree bag.

This getting old is hard sometimes.

That's cold enough to qualify. (As my buddy in Georgetown says if it drops below 40, "I don't know how you stupid yankees stand it!")

Congrats on the full tucker - it was worth it!

Shot my buck on a beautifull snow covered hill at about 5 below with a 20 MPH wind laid out in the snow for about three hours to get him. The weather up keeps the riff-raff away. Good freezer full and good luck next year.

Have to admire a person laying in the snow for 3 hours in below zero weather to get a shot.

Me - I'd be the guy looking out the window at you with a steaming cup of coffee in hand and slowly shaking my head.

kdub, You mean you wouldn't at least take a nice hot cup of coffee out to a poor hunter.

I can feel for the poor guy, I got a nice buck while stationed in Grand Forks Nd. The temp was a whole -36 degrees. The guy who's property I was hunting said it was a warm day that day compared to the week before on opening day. (Got to admit, the Military does issue some good cold weather gear).
