When I told a friend that my K-31 shot so well with the GP-11 ammo that I was thinking of a better sighting system for it, he dug out this article for me. He has one K-31 and likes it so much that he is thinking of picking up two more.

From "The Fouling Shot" journal September 2003.

"Shooting the Swiss K-31" by Joe W. Wiest.

"I have worked with a lot of rifles but these two have been the most difficult rifles I've ever tried to make shoot. The stock screws are temperamental and the handguard wood pressure is critical. I have relieved the front wood and found this will cause them to shoot all over. One day it will shoot nice tight groups and a week later the same load seems like it's poison."

Wiest goes on the say that he likes the rifles and when all is right the guns will give groups of about one inch.

If you scope the gun you may need a cheek pad, or add on comb.

He closes the article with ... " I very much enjoy them and will get the best of them. If you have any tips for me please send them to wiest4@juno.com"

I am going to refit my K-31 with the MOJO MicroClick SnapSights
(Rear MicroClick plus front aperture sight.)
