Just recieved 2 rifles, 1 chambered in 7.5 French and the other in 8mm Lebel. Both rifles appear to be in good working order. Haven't been able to find any ammo for either. Is it still available?, if not, are components available to reload?
Thanks, Renegade

Graf & Sons at www.grafs.com has 7.5 French and 8mm Lebel brass. They may have ammo from time to time. The folks at Midway at www.midwayusa.com have 7.5 French ammo. Hope this helps. All the best...

:D At least we know they are in excellent condition, since the French never used them.

Lebel was used in 2 world wars (almost) That one has been dropped twice! 7.5 was also used in 2 wars (almost again), WW2 and Vietnam, also dropped twice! Lots of dings, perfect bore!

I stand corrected!
The 8MM Lebel could very easily have been used in World War One.
Since France suffered 1.375 million killed, and 4.266 million wounded, that rifle could have been dropped quite a few times...

Lebel was the most modern rifle in 1886.They used him very much in WWI against the Germans. The soldiers called "poilus" didn't like him , much to long and very difficult to reload. In WWII the reserve had him and the German Volkssturm (children and old man) used him for the final battle of Berlin.Afterwards it went to Indo-China and the Viets used it.My grandfather fought in this war and a lot of people forget it against the most powerfull army of the world. No he was not French,it was poor little Belgium with there slogan:mieux mourir debout que vivre a genoux. He staid for over 4 years in the fronttrenches in the mud without being able to see his family.Freedom has allways a heavy price, they paid it

Renegade,
I have 245 rounds of 8mm Lebel and 135 rounds of 7.5 MAS. What have you got to trade?

The 7,5mm French ammo can be found at Southern ohio gun its in their monthly flyer its manufactured by FNM and its boxer primed yugo brass so its a quaity brass for reloading too. I have also found the FNM ammo to be very accurate in my french 49/56 too. I think its either $8 or $9 a box of 20.
