Just in case you weren't feeling too old today, this will certainly change things..

The people who are starting college this fall across the nation were born in 1987.

They are too young to remember the first space shuttle blowing up on liftoff.

Their lifetime has always included AIDS.

Bottle caps have always been screw off and plastic.

The CD was introduced the year they were born.

They have always had an answering machine.

They have always had cable.

They cannot fathom not having a remote control.

Jay Leno has always been on the Tonight Show.

Popcorn has always been cooked in the microwave.

They never took a swim and thought about Jaws.

They can't imagine what hard contact lenses are.

They don't know who Mork was or where he was from.

They never heard: "Where's the Beef?", "I'd walk a mile for a Camel", or "de plane, Boss, de plane".

They do not care who shot J. R. and have no idea who J. R. even is.

McDonald's never came in Styrofoam containers.

They don't have a clue how to use a typewriter.

Do you feel old yet? Pass this on to the other old fogies on your list. Notice the larger type, that's for those of you who have trouble reading...

Mention that it 'seems longer because of the wind chill factor' (as my grandfather once did) and see what reaction you get....

The people who are starting college this fall across the nation were born in 1987.

They are too young to remember the first space shuttle blowing up on liftoff. I think I was in Kindergarten, i remember seeing it happen, and I definately remember the memorial service, it was one of the few times my parents let me eat in front of the TV

Their lifetime has always included AIDS. Mostly

Bottle caps have always been screw off and plastic. Nah, bottles used to be glass, but the caps always screwed off, right?

The CD was introduced the year they were born. I remember my parents 8 tracks and I still have a few cassettes

They have always had an answering machine. Family business, it was a requirement

They have always had cable. I had 3 channels when I was younger, and one of em was PBS

They cannot fathom not having a remote control. Thats why my parents had me, so I could change channels

Jay Leno has always been on the Tonight Show. There was that Carson guy, right?

Popcorn has always been cooked in the microwave. I can remember my parents popper, it was always a special treat, I can remember when air poppers were all the rage too

They never took a swim and thought about Jaws. The other guys at school thought that it was cool, cause "you got to see a womans boobie"

They can't imagine what hard contact lenses are. I got nothing

They don't know who Mork was or where he was from. Ork, not sure how I know that, but I do

They never heard: "Where's the Beef?", "I'd walk a mile for a Camel", or "de plane, Boss, de plane". My wifes family will never let her live down the time that she imitated the old lady on the Wendys commercial. Fantasy Island was great in reruns, The first VHS I remember my parents renting was Looney Toons Fantastic Island, the cartoon version of fantasy island

They do not care who shot J. R. and have no idea who J. R. even is. He was on Dallas, I used to get to stay up to see the opening sequence, because they showed Texas Stadium and my family are Cowboy's fans (yes, even now)

McDonald's never came in Styrofoam containers. I do remember that

They don't have a clue how to use a typewriter. I did a 4 book reports on a typewriter, my mom used to teach typing (in 1975) so I was forced to learn

Wow, congratulations, you've suceeded in making a 24 year old feel old, thanks alot  I can also remember when people used to think it was funny when my parents wrote out a check, My dad's name is Laverne and, you guessed it, my Mom's name is Shirley. I kid you not, you can't make this stuff up.

I can remember (5 years old) when Dad joined the Navy (day after Pearl Harbor) and when I asked what all the noise was and was told VJ had just been announced and your Dad will be coming home.......unfortunately, that's something that we share with this generation, apparently technology has progressed but we haven't??

Wow, congratulations, you've suceeded in making a 24 year old feel old, thanks alot  Right there with you JB. As I was born in 70, I am familiar with every line given ... although I have not directly experienced every item though ... no replaced hip joints and the like :p. I did learn to type on a typewriter in highschool, just because I could see the computer age coming and wanted to be ready.

That's an eye-opening trivia set for an incoming group of freshmen and their profs :o.

Born-1958, remember.....

Watching Capt. Kangaroo on our Du Mont t.v.
The blizzard of 67,dad getting stranded at work. the snow was almost to the top of the clothes pole in the yard.
Just dying to own a "brand new" Rem. Nylon 66
A fella down the block was going into the service and bought a split window Corvette Stingray.
Folks still said,"how do you do", even in Chicago.

Some of these comments on balding reminded me that you can tell a lot about a man by the way he loses his hair.

If he is balding in front, he's a thinker.

If he is balding on top, he's a lover.

And if he is balding in front and on top, he thinks he's a lover.

The Old Guy (who has a year on Dan. I used to tell people I was born in FDR's first term, until more and more would answer, "Who?")
