I got a case of this today at Sportsmans Guide $64 for 630 rounds. Looks like copper washed steel. I haven't had a chance to try this yet. Has anybody else tried this stuff? It's pretty clean since it was sealed in a tin can inside the crate. Once I do get a chance to try it out I'll post my impression of it.

I happened to find some info on this ammo here:

Seems like it might be some good stuff. It appears that the box I opened was reworked from some code 188 made in 1945.

As the weather was nice today ( I live in Minnesota ) 25-30 degrees 5 mph wind and sun, I tried out the M908 ammo in a M38 and a 91/30. The groups I got were a little bigger than the Czech silver tip stuff I usually shoot with, about 2.5 - 3.5" @ 100 yds. I shot off of a sand bag.

Since I don't live far from Sportsmans Guide, the price of $ 64.00/630 round box wasn't bad since I didn't have to pay for shipping. They don't have the Czech silver tip, but they do have the Polish light ball. I think I'll pick up some of that the next time I'm there - and probably order a couple more cases of Czech from Aim in the near future.

So I guess I wouldn't buy the M908 unless nothing else was available. The Czech is more accurate, and basically for the same price you get 800 rounds as opposed to 630.

Try the Hungarian yellow tip from AIM. http://www.aimsurplus.com/acatalog/copy_of_7_62x54R.html
