Does anyone know where I could download a good copy of a SKS manual? I just bought a Yugo 59/66, it had no manual and I need to take it apart and clean it really well.

THe gun came out of storage, and it has a very sticky thick grease on it. Has anyone had experience with cleaning a SKS in this condition?

All comments welcome.

One of the best sites for all types of military arms is the Surplus Rifle website at www.surplusrifle.com. Just navigate around to the SKS information and pictures. All the best...

The rifle is easy to take apart. Just take it completely apart and clean each piece, especially the firing pin. A good place to ask questions is:

http://www.sksboards.com/forum/index.php

There you can learn good tips about cleaning out the cosmoline.
