Am considering taking one of my 2 3/4" autos on a duck hunt coming up soon.
Will I be disadvantaged over all the other 3" semi Benellis that will be in my group? Is modern day steel 2 3/4" high brass up to the task??
Thanks for any feedback.

Check the reg's where you are,, but I believe steel is what the fed's call for,, I have heard that bismuth and its like are also okay,, and from what the guys have said act more like the old lead shot..
Make sure your shotgun is okay for any of the above,, older ones by and large aren't
Over decoys I can't see where you would be at a disadvantage

Are you talking 12 or 20 ga? I have used my 20 with both 2 3/4 and 3". The only difference I noticed was length of shot resulting in a clean kill. Keep your shots close and you should have no problems. Good Luck!

2 3/4 is great on ducks (steel) and on geese if you use the new non-tox (not steel). The new heavier non-toxs really knock them down.
I hate steel - only thing going for it is that it's cheap.
