Somewhere on the Net i read that the PMC 357 shell casings, should not be reloaded. Does anyone know if this is true. I have reloaded about 100 rounds using the Bright Cases not Brass.

They seem to work well, but if there safety issues, I would like to be aware of them.

Thanks

I am unaware of this, but why not get it from the horse's mouth? PMC's Nevada subsidiary, Eldorado Cartridge Corp. has a toll-free number. (800) 456-9182. Give them a call and let us know what they say?

I have reloaded a ton of PMC brass in the 9mm, .44 Special, .45 ACP, and .45 Colt calibers. They all go bang and then I reload them again. They all look like cartridge brass and if it were not for the headstamp, they would look like anyother brand of brass. I think someone is starting an urban legend and you just happened to get in on it. PMC brass is thicker than the others and you will feel it when you run them through the sizer die. I say treat PMC brass like anyother brass and reload using the same precautions.

I have reloaded not quite a ton of PMC brass, all of it in .357 Magnum. It is a bit stouter, heavier, thicker in my experience too so you might have to mind your charges a bit more than in a lighter, thinner walled case as you have less powder space and pressures can quickly creep up on you. Some of mine are on their 5th reload and not showing signs of failure.

As with anything about reloading, be careful and do your homework.

PMC sells brass for reloading.

I have been reloading PMC brass for years in various calibers without any problems. Perhaps someone is confusing PMC brass with CCI Blazer non-reloadable cases. All the best...

That's what I wondered. Magshooter referred to the "bright" cases. Does PMC make any with nickel plating? New to me, also. I've shot their match loads for rifle and a fair amount of hardball, but it was all straight brass. Could be Magshooter picked up some of the aluminum CCI Blazer cases, but one is hardput to refer to them as "bright". Dull white metal, maybe. Anyway, aren't the aluminum Blazer's Berdan primed? I've forgotten. I never shoot them.

I'v never shot or had the bras for their new "green" ammo...leadless with frangible bullets that some ranges are requiring. MIGHT be taht those rounds are loaded with differnt primers, or like Winchester have a differnt sized falsh hole between primer and powder charge...or some other oddness to them. Don't know, never seen them first hand.

But I've reloaded all the other makes and models of PMC ammo without any problems.
