I can see where the Lee Sizing kit can do a good job of sizing cast bullets but does it really do a good job at seating gas checks of all kinds?I am not yet set on which method of sizing I will use when I begin casting but the lee sizer kit looks to be very simple.Any input will be appreciated.

As far as seating gas-checks, the Lee sizing kit will seat them just as good as any. All sizers, essentially, work the same; they push the bullet through a sizer of preferred diameter. The gas-check will be seated as the bullet is pushed through the sizer as long as both the gas-check and unsized bullet are larger than the inside diameter of the sizing die (which should be the case any way).
In the Lee, nose first type sizer, the friction of the larger, unsized bullet will cause the force from the press ram to seat the gas-check fully as the whole bullet/gas check combo are pushed through and sized.
What the Lee kit will not do is lube the bullet; you'll have to spend another $100+ on a "lube-sizer" that will do that.
Good luck with your decision...

don't spend the hundred dollars, just use Lee's Liquid Alox and tumble lube them. That has worked for me with over 50,000 rounds of 357, 41 mag, 44 mag and 45 colt.
I only gas check when I get over 1350 fps even if the bullet will take a gas check. I shoot hardcast out of Lee molds and leading is nonexistant and accuracy is great.
I left the old style lubri-sizer long ago and have never looked back.

I tend to like pan lubing all my bullets for BP.
For smokeless, I have tried "dipping" my bullets in melted lube and pull them out with a gloved hand or cloths pin. (bullet doesn't get deformed with either method)
With the lube still smeared on, I will run it through the Lee sizer...It pushes the gascheck on at the same time as forcing lube into the groves.

I have used the Lee Sizing for my .308 and I have never had any problems with gas checks In my opion you can't go wrong for the money.

If you want to size boolits with the Lee sizer, but don't want to lube them, just put a light smear of Hornady Unique resizing lube on the nose of each boolit. They then size with very little effort and no boolit distortion. A good substitute for Hornady Unique is mink oil boot dressing, it works just as well and is cheaper. Also makes an excellent resizing lube.

I have a 450 Lyman and an RCBS Lubesizer. They haven't seen much use since I started using Lee sizers and Liquid Alox. If you are using Lee, you gottsa think outside the square and not try and force the old rules into the equation. I try everything unsized and lubed with Lee Liquid Alox. If this works (and it generally does) you just saved a whole heap of work. Next step is Lee sizing and Liquid Alox. I hardly ever get the lubesizers out.
Try it first and see how you go. Why spend money and extra time when you might'nt have to?
Mick.
