This is a rifle that I just finish rechambering to the 243 KMD. The original chambering was the 243 Winchester...

The trigger has been reworked and adjusted to a very smooth and crisp 22 ounces...

The base and barrel has been modified from the factory 6-48 screws to the 8-40 screws...

The forend has been pillar bedded with a 1/2" stainless steel pillar and then the forend has been full length epoxy bedded. The reason for this type bedding is absolute minimal vibrations for best accuracy with a 2-piece stock...

The muzzle brake on the gun is more for protection of the crown than recoil reduction but it does cut recoil by about 50%...

This is the new 243 KMD that is based on the full length 6mm Remington case...

It was designed as a rechambering option for the H&R Ultra in 243 Winchester. It was developed to offer the best possible accuracy obtainable from these particular break open single shots....

This shows the neck length and shoulder difference between the 243 Win. and the 243 KMD...

The 243 KMD produces about 200 fps. higher velocity than the 243 Winchester. The longer neck of the 243 KMD allows for a new throat to be cut when cutting the new chamber. It is throated short enough for 70-80 gr. bullets to touch the lands and the bullet still be held firmly in the case...

Like I said, the 243 KMD was designed for accuracy more than speed....
