Did some research on the weapon and caliber and finally ordered a upper. Will reload for it exclusively. Like the idea that you can use the Powerbelt 50 cal. muzzleloader bullets. Will try the 50 S&W bullets also. (Have to use jacketed bullets due to the gas system. This should be a great hog gun with a red dot sight. Anybody that could offer some info/pointers would be much appreciated. Thanks----pruhdlr

Don't own one but have shot a couple owned by customers of the shop I work in. One of them uses his for hogs and reports that it is very effective {no surprise there!}. Interesting round. I'd like to see it offered in some sort of sporting/hunting rifle because AR's do nothing for me. Recoil is about like a heavy 20 ga load.

Santa in the brown truck brought me one for xmas. I've shot about 100 rds through it so far. I like it so far, but have only shot the 334 gr HP factory load to date. It is not a flat shooting round. Anything specific that you wish to know?

Alexander arms says that a heavier buffer is not requred. I put mine on a pre-ban E-A lower. Should be the same size pins.

Alexander arms gives data for lead bullets so I'm not sure that it would be a problem.

Have a Wulf also now. Got it in (IIRC) Sept. Have shot only the AA brand of 300gr GD's thru it. Would highly reccommend that you get a muzzle brake for it. Can be easily put on yourself. Cuts recoil very considerbly. Have killed 4 hogs with it. Biggest only 130ish though so no real test. It hammered them. Am set up to reload some of the Powerbelt muzzleloader bullets but hunting season has got in the way. Of the bullets offered by AA would suggest the 300gr. GD's. I feel that they will cleanly kill any animal that the average person will hunt. For the bigger bears I would load some of the Powerbelts. Also, the GD's will shoot one ragged hole at 50yds. Have had some 2" groups at 100. My Wulf upper sits atop a Bushmaster lower and wears a Leupold 2X7X33 shotgun scope. Would also reccommend this setup as it has the 2X for the 10yd shots and the 7X for as far as this weapon is designed to be used. Any ?'s just ask. ------- pruhdlr

mbegg, I do not think that the AA uppers will fit a Colt lower. They have a "bastard" pin size. I have talked to Bill Alexander several times on the phone and he is very informative. His secretary is likewise. AA will request a copy of you DL and a signed statement prior to shipping you ammo. The 4rd mags that they sell will hold 4,but you cannot insert a mag w/ 4rds. into a closed action weapon. Likewise the 7 rounders that they sell. As per Bill, you can make/convert your own mags. He reccommends you use (as AA does) the Pro-Mag brand. They are steel and the feed lips are stronger and easier to bend/work. All that need be done is that the front(about1/3rd)of the feed lips need to be bent slightly outward so that the Wulf round will sit with a nose up attitude. You can use the existing follower. My opinion is that after you locate, buy, and pay the shipping charges on the Pro-Mags,you might as well buy the AA mags. I have 4. Two 4's and two 7's. One 7, I converted to 5 for hunting purposes. Have been told also that if you want higher capacity, you can convert a 30 and it will hold 13 Wulf's. This weapon(IMO) was designed for and the application is for close range shots(100yds max). When sighted in for 50yds its also on at 100. Anywhere in between you don't have to worry about the 1.5" high or low it will be. At 175yds you can still hold hair(top of back)and the bullet will drop right in. All this outta a 16" bbl. The longer bbl version(24") you could do this out to 200 or maybe 225. The TKO figures resemble a hotter than store bought .45-70. Remember also that the bullet starts out at half an inch and expands from there. That's allot of slap. I will try to test the Wulf on one of the big S.Fla. hogs this spring. I want a 350 at least. Will post the results. ----

AA uppers will fit a pre-ban gun. Colt changed the pin dia to keep the government off their backs. Several companies make adaptor pins to fit the later colt lowers. I'd also note that the GD bullets are made by speer and available any where speer bullets are. Also Midwayusa has the mags for the .50 discounted this month.

I see that the uppers are discounted also($30.) Have to call a buddie. He was impressed at the accuracy.------- pruhdlr
