A guy used to drive along a country road to get to work everyday. After a weeks vacation he noticed two guys along the side of the road everyday. The one ahead making holes, and the one behind, about five holes back, filling them in. After seeing this for a week, curiosity got the better of him and he stopped to ask the guys what they were doing.
"We are a three-man tree-planting crew. But there were some budget cut-backs and we two had seniority over the guy with the trees."
My apologies if this was posted before. My condolences if you work for the government.

Loved it! I just sent this over to my brother in law who has a state job!!
At least they were working.....our "government" employees tend to lean on the shovels more than operate them, or require four to watch while the fifth digs.

Friend of mine works for a pavin' outfit. He told me he got on the cb one day, " Hey boss, we need four more shovels down here". "Ok" says the boss, "Just lean of each other 'til I get there".
Grit,
your friends boss and I would likely get along well.
Good one.:)
