Can anyone tell me how much bullets cast from Lyman's #429215 weigh with or without a gas check, when cast from wheelweight?
Thanks,

Maybe I should clairify...
Does the weight Lyman lists for their #429215 include the gas-check or is that the weight withOUT the gas-check?
Thanks,

Lyman #2 alloy is pretty close (weight wise) to wheel weights (its differnet in other ways, but weight is pretty close)...WW ususually goes a little bit heavier...but I'd hate to predict within any cast bullet weight.
Lyman's own chart shows .44 bullets (their example was #429421) running from 238gr. (with linotype) to 256 (lead)...and as cast diameter from .4296" (lead) to .4314" (lino).
Not all...there is a difference in how a bullet sizes. SOfter bullets tend to not spring back after sizing...harder bullet do. So even running all the above examples through a .429" siszing die, can expect them to pop out the top from .4286" (lead) to .4294" (lino.).
Think you'll be close on that bullet using average WW's...gas checked and lubed, should run about 221 to 224 gr.

I have that mould, mine is 30+ years old. In wheelweights, gas checked, and lubed mine weigh 215 to 220 grains. In straight linotype, 200 to 205 grains.

Cast of 88L/6T/6A, checked and lubed they run 220gr and are one of the most accurate .44 bullets.
In linotype my mould gave bullets weighing 232 grains.

klw...that's really heavy for lino in 429215. I also have the 429244 gas check mould, and it weights about 240 in linotype.
