I have a Remington model 600 in .308 Win and I would like to remove the non-factory homemade aluminum rib and go with just a scope.

I took it off then realized that the factory used a threaded hole and post type "elevators" (spacers) and they did not seem to want to budge.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Gary...I agreed with you one that space age rib! I can live with the crazy dog leg bolt handle, but the rib has to go. Most I have seen had the rib post ground off, the barrel drawfiled and polished. Didn't look too bad for a working gun. Most people have the bareel set up, after the posts are ground down and drawfiled, in a lathe and the barrel spin polished.
