I just purchased an old 9422 XTR (mint cond) and am wondering when it was made. A web search does not yield to much info. Any clue on a website that may show this?

I tried that web site earlier and they do not cover the 9422. Thanks anyway.

Just looked it up in my book, and I can't be specific, but it was made from 1972 until they stopped sometime last year.

Thanks, the wood on it is nicer than any 9422 I have seen. Such a great little gun.

Sometimes we get lucky on the wood. I bought a couple of Marlin 39's last year that to me looked like AAA fancy walnut. Don't know why they came that way but I wasn't letting them get away.

I think now I will look for a 9417..it seems they are pretty rare, but may be a nice gun to find.

Rifles marked "XTR" were made from circa 1978-89. They were all made with much nicer wood and finishing.
