Deer, maybe moose. Adarondacks, St. Lawrence county area, for example.
Thinking of crossing the lake to see what's happening over there. Guided/camps preferred.
Suggestions?
Thanks
jonas
There is presently no moose season in NY state. We do have a few moose in the Adirondacks, but not enough population to hunt.
Deer and bear are legal game.
There are some outfitters in the Adirondack area, but I anm not familiar with them. I wonder if the state DEC (Dept Environ Cons) would list accredited guides.
I believe the addy is: http://www.dec.state.ny.us/website/site/subject.html

If you are looking for guides to help you in your hunting in new york, check out www. nysoga.org. This is the website for the guides association of new york. Check out the new york DEC website, they have an outdoor recreation map that lists every piece of state land in the entire state, and there is a lot of it.

Actually, I am in saratoga springs. So I do most of my hunting on public land either in state forests or in the southern adirondacks. I have been living here for only a couple of years. If you look on the DEC website under the public lands locator, you can find all sorts of good places to hunt. I usually pick out half a dozen, and then scout them out for whatever particular hunting I am interested in. I am very optimistic about this springs turkey hunting due to the time I have been able to allocate for scouting. Let me know if you have any other questions and I will use my limited experience to help as much as I can. Happy hunting. Gobble, gobble!!!
