If you drive out the pin in the sight base, will the blade come out? I need another 3/16ths or so to bring impact down on the paper.
I have a Ruger Bisley revolver with a pinned front sight. The blade could be removed with the pin out.

Take pin all the way out. The blade is then a force-fit and can be wiggled out. Call Ruger and order the tallest front sight blade they make. Don't take their "We only have one height front sight. They are all the same" baloney. You want to speak to a gunsmith.
Order Ruger part MR0311, High Front Sight Blade .445", and also part KE-26, Ft. Sight Roll Cross Pin.
This taller blade allows the Buffalo Bore Heavy .45 Colt loads to shoot to point of aim, instead of 8" high with the old sight blade.
Baercountry - many thanks for posting this. I've tried on several occasions to order a taller blade and they told me what I have is the tallest Ruger offers....NOT!
FYI...the .445" sight blade number is: MR03611
