Was wondering which of Savage Arms rifle models would be comparable to the Remington 700. Taking a look at some online and am having some trouble figuring out which Savage model is their "700"

This depends on what your trying to compare. The new Savage Classic compares very well to the remington 700 mountian rifle. Their varmit rifles compare very well to the Remington 700 VLS.
The fact that the Savage rifles are a bolt action magazine fed repeater compares to the Remington 700's being bolt action magazine fed repeaters.
The Savage rifles are also a push feed action simular to the Remington and different than the mauser and the Winchester and the Ruger controlled round feed actions.
I've been a Remington fan for a lot of years, but have friends whom shoot and hunt with the savages. They are very happy with their rifles and the new accu-trigger is very good.
Savage does not have a model 700 rifle, but comparing them to Remington is an apple and oranges type of thing. They are a totally different company with their own unique products.

As for comparing good looks with accuracy such as the 700 http://www.remington.com/products/firearms/centerfire_rifles/model_700/model_700_CDL.asp I'd say the closest Savage comes is the 114 American Classic. http://www.savagearms.com/114u.htm

Yeah, the model 14 American Classic, or the 114... same gun just different calibers.
