But, Fellas -

Keep in perspective - it was ONLY an attorney.

One more use for a lawyer, talk about a turnabout an ambulance chasing a lawyer.

Above all the joking I do wish the accident victim a speedy recovery.

just saw news that the gentleman has lead shot in his heart and has had a heart attack...our VP (and NRA) is going to get a lot of "help" on this one.

Saw a news report that showed excerpts of the media giving the Presidents Press Secretary holy heck for not involving them sooner. Apparently the accident involvees followed appropriate protocol and promptly involved the police, etc........but of course commited the sin of not notifying the media immediately, thus must be hiding or covering up something!

Good point. All the right people were involved, excpept those who make a living by making sensational claims about something they don't understand very well.

I just hope the poor gentleman recovers from the wound. Today's news stories about a "heart attack" really underscore the severity about how hard he was hit. I was unaware that any of the shot had gone in that deep. I'm sure that Mr. Cheney has been dying a thousand deaths ever since this happened. Today's news has probably rocked him to the core. My prayers are extended to a full recovery for the gentleman.

"Heart attack" seems to have been used in a general sense according to the story I read. I'm not technically oriented enough to get all the nuances. It didn't sound good.

I'll echo LET-CA's comments -

This was posted prior to hearing of the gentleman's turn for the worse. Let's all wish him a speedy recovery.

The incident brought to mind another true tragedy in Texas many years ago, just after JFK's assassination and Lyndon assuming the presidency.

There was a developing scandal over milk and ammonia fertilizer. The investigation was getting close to Johnson and the Texas governor, John Connely. A key witness was slated to give testimony when he was discovered dead in a remote ranch pasture, shot to death and a rifle laying nearby. The local sheriff and cororner investigated this slaying and announced - "Dangest suicide I ever saw - shot himself 5 times with a bolt action rifle!"

The scandals were quietly put aside and we never heard anymore of the situation.

Now that's funny.

Two pictures: An appropriate picture of a veteran listening to Kennedy and a great bumper sticker.
