I've got a buddy with the Win Model 100 autoloader (308 Win) with the old firing pin (this one didn't make it in for the factory recall because of his dad's death and the fact that the gun was hidden in some hidey-hole at his father's house).

Anyone know how he might find an owner's manual and more info on the recall? Apparently, these guns had a tendency to double, which has happened on this particular gun.

I doubt with Winchester going out of business a recall will be done. Your going to probably have to take it to a gunsmith for repair.

When they announced the recall a long time ago, gunsmiths all over ordered bunches of the replacement parts, even more than they needed. They pretty much wiped out the supply which was geared to the # of Mod 100's made. As a result, there's parts out there, but Winchester doesn't have any. I'd check all around with older gun shops with the hopes of finding one. I think the GunNuts.com at the top of the Beartooth page will lead you to a parts schematic of your rifle. Good luck.

Even if another gun shop don't have one, any good gunsmith can make you one.

I cannot however provide you a copy, as I gave my last to the purchaser of my Winnie 100
