I need a schematic for the model 64 or help in removing forearm tenons.
I am trying to get the forarm off my old model 64 so I can remove the forarm tenons. The tenons are dovetailed into the barrel. They nned to comeout before the forarm will slide off.
I am trying to refinish the old forearm and stock.

First, the tennon does not need to be removed. Second, the Model 64 is just a fancy 94 and the schematic for that is identical, if it is for a 94 rifle, not carbine.
Second, how to remove the forend. First remove the magazine plug screw, being careful that the plug does not fly out. Remove the plug, spring and follower from the front of the magazine and then pull the magazine straight forward out of the forend. If the magazine is hard to pull, wait until the next step is done. Next, remove both the screws on the forend cap and slide the cap forward. If the magazine is still in it will come out esily now. Pivot the front of the forend down and it will come free. It is retained by the forend cap and magazine tube. The tennon never needs to be removed from the barrel, not even for re-bluing

Thanks again for your help.
