Has anyone done a trigger job on either of these two rifles? Have you any knowledge of any thread that may have information on how to do it? I have both of these rifles and both have the tipical heavy pulls which I hate. Would greatly appreciate any help that you could give me. Can't see taking them to a smith if I can do it myself.

I've never done a trigger job on these, but have worked over a few 870 shotguns. It looks like the trigger group is pretty close in design.
Pop out the two pins holding the trigger group in and you can see how the trigger engages the sear. From there you can go to cleaning it up and some honing and polishing.
Doing only a little at a time and checking often may help a bunch.

Be especially careful w/ the auto. That's one movement that you want to keep under control.
A little polishing does very nicely for these hunting rifles. You'll never get or need a benchrest trigger.
