I've been comparing specs for handiRifles. Three example product codes are:
SB2-243
SB2-343
SB2-843
What does the 2,3, or 8 stand for in these codes?

A single shot, break action rifle must be cocked, correct. Load, cock, fire, repeat. I'm shopping for an inexpensive rifle in the range of $250. Braztech too? I don't know. I'm still saving for the gem. Right now I'm looking for solid craftsmanship, good price, good performance. I usually shoot bolt action so I'm curious about the single shot.

Will a better rifle assembly cost less in a synth stock. There are some options at WakMart that are very affordable. Is it just that the average cost of an average rifle goes down with the synth stock. It would seem to work in your favor with a more expensive rifle. $$$ only matters for a few more months but . For future reference, What rifle companies have the best Synthetic products? Are those products regulated or standardized?
THNX for your help

I am not sure about the Handi rifles, but you should seriously consider the Savages or Stevens (same actions, different features). my signature pretty well sums up my opinion of synthetics, but if you want the tupperware, they are pretty standard across price points, in other words, you will find about the same quality in a price range

Even though I have several Handi rifles, I think JB is right about an outstanding rifle for the price in the Savage/Stevens guns.

Single shots appeal to people for several reasons and the Handi is about the cheapest that is still good American quality. Accuracy right out of the box with a Handi is hard to achieve at times, but with a little tinkering, it can be more than accurate enough for hunting purposes.

The Savage/Stevens tends to be accurate right out of the box, for not much more than a Handi rifle.

I like the synthetic stocks on Handi rifles or the older shotgun stocks. The newer "pallet wood" stocks don't appeal to me very much.

I agree with the others as far as the best rifle for the price and very accurate, but..... the one with the best Synthetic stock would be the Remington. Much better made stocks with alluminum bedding blocks.
