I like this rifle. I usually shoot bolt action but this is intriguing. How do they perform? If they're good then the price seems even better. I'm still confused by these codes.

What does the 2,3, or 8 stand for in the suffix?

It comes in several barrel contours and stocks...

243 = 22" Standard/Wood
343 = 22" Bull/Wood
S43 = 22" Standard/Synthetic
4S3 = 22" SS Standard/Synthetic
SL5 = 20" Superlight/Synthetic
SY5 = 20" Superlight/Synthetic Youth
840 = 22" Standard/Laminated Ultra Hunter
843 = 24" Bull/Laminated Ultra Varmint

The standard and bull barrels will shoot real good with the right ammo, I would suggest the 95gr Federal Fusion ammo, it shoots excellent in mine and many others. The Superlight barrels are tempermental and will shoot good if you don't shoot too many shots quickly, they warm up too quick for that, but with the right load, they can shoot good too. Mine also likes the Federal 100gr Hi-Shoks or Power-Shoks as they are called now.
