I just got a real good deal on an American Arms Silver II O/U. My questions are on the choke tubes, etc. I got 5 choke tubes with it 2 of them have AA Skeet on them so I know what they are for but the others only have notches on the ends, one has 1 notch one has 3 and the other has 4. I put inside calipers and measured them and the 1 notch is the tightest. I want to know if someone else has the owner manual that tells exactly what one is which. I know the 1 notch is either full or extra full. Also if someone has the owner manual could I get a copy? I will pay for copying and mailing. I did not get a owners manual with it and I cannot find American Arms on line. Any help would be appreciated. Also how good are these guns? Thanks in advance.

Hi, RedHawk 1:
There's a European system of choke markings that uses * marks to indicate choke.
* Full
** Modified
*** Improved cylinder
Your tubes may use the notches as a similar system. Of course, only the pattern board knows for sure.
I deleted your extra posts. That happens to me every now and again too. Don't double click on the "Add Reply" button, just one click will do.
Bye

If I remember correctly Benelli uses the same notch system. Jack is right that the asterisks and notches are the same.

My choke tubes, 1 has 1 notch and the others have 3 and 4 noches. But I do not have one with 2 noches? I don't know if the is one with 2 noches. Does anyone know where I can get an owner manual for one?

Redhawk1,
Trulock has choke tubes to fit the American Arms shotguns. *They may know more about the id system. *Here's their website:
http://trulockchokes.com/home/americanarms.htm
While I didn't find a website or contact number for American Arms, if you do a search at http://www.google.com *there are lots sites that touch on these firearms.
Hope this helps.

American Arms is no more. Their interests have been purchased by a company called "Tristar". They do have a web site, but unfortunately I failed to bookmark it.

I finally had a few moments to look the information up. It was in "Short Shots" of the American Handgunner -- March/April 2001 -- page 114.
They list the complete name as "Tristar Ltd." in North Kansas City, Missouri.
Best Regards:)
