Gents:

I have a strainge eyesight/ gunsight problem I find difficult to explain. When adjusting the 5D reciever sight on my 336, I find that the aperture is about 1/8 inch off from centerline( to right side- RH shooter) to hit on target. All else is attached properly and the sight center mark lines up with the scope mount screw holes. I do wear glasses and am nearsighted. THis has happened before with other guns- when someone else uses the gun it prints well off target. Only thng I can think of is how light is refracting through the upper left corner of the specticle lens that is aligned with the aperture.

Thoughts?

No. The direction the gun is pointing is determined by the alignment of the sights with the target. Whatever distortion you are seeing is after that fact and should't affect the point of impact. Imagine not wearing glasses, aligning the gun with a vise and then using a mirror to see the sights from the side.
