I saw an 1895 ltd 111 yesterday. 45-70 22 inch octagon barrel. How many were made and are they collectable?

I thought the LTD IIIs had only 20" barrels, but I could be wrong. Either way, these are very nice with only about 1,000 made. Don't see any IIIs on the dealers shelves around here, but I did see a IV for about $750 awhile back and thought about it long and hard before letting it go.

I think they made a I,II,III,IV,and V. Two versions - deluxe and std(I may be getting my Win 1886 mixed up here) - but I think about 3500 each and yes they should have some collectable if not desirable value. Mine is the V and it has a half round/half octogon barrel -and shoots circles aroung my 1886 Win. (newer version).I also like the fact they have the old Ballard type rifling vs micro groove - happy shooting - jb :)
