Art Green in Beverly Hills is shipping me 50# of NO. 2 alloy for $69.40. This is really clean lead and gives me a BHN of 15-17 for a water quenched bullet. That's $1.38/LB but wheel weights are hard to come by in these parts.

I'd order more, a lot more, because I know Art is finding it increasingly difficult to get this stuff.

I have a standing order for 100 pounds of linotype a months from him for the next couple of years. Since October he has only been able to ship 300 pounds.

If he actually has what you want I'd recommend ordering all you can get because it isn't going to be cheaper and it isn't going to get easier to find.

If you can find a graphite-less magnum shot in your area, you can alloy it with 95/5 solder and some lead and make your own Lyman #2 for just over $1/pound.

Local trap range will start having a sale on 25 lb bags of #8 and #9 magnum shot here shortly. I should be able to get it all done for just under $1/pound.

But, you will need to do all casting outdoors, since most shot has some arsenic involved. (only like .1%, but still worth taking precautions with...)
