The leopard was stalking a waterhole and completely ignored us

At this point he was about 5 meters from the car!
His camoflage is incredible

ThomasT,
Those are fantastic pictures! Can you tell us a little about the photo gear you are using? Digital or film? Tripod or no?

Ha! Ha! Good one Cheezy! I can just see an elephant with runny eyes, kneeing a bloody mess into the dirt.
:p

Excellent photos Thomast!

alyeska338 its a Canon 20D with a ef 75-300 lens, over a bean bag. The elephant was just outside the "elephant proof" fencing of the camp I was in and I was using a 75mm zoom lens hand held.
Maybe this picture will bring back some nice memories for you..

That is amazing! So close, and the cat's outline is already blended into the grass! Beautiful!

Thank you for those photos.

Thanks for the equipment info, and yes, those pics do bring back some wonderful memories.

I know I'm not a very good photographer, but that point was really driven home when I got my pics back from my Zim trip. I was pretty disappointed. I've been trying to find a few good books or maybe take a photo workshop class around here. There's a huge difference in quality between the photos you posted here and what I posted a few months ago.

Good job.
