Just decided to see what the other side is saying. There is a website: Stophunting.org that I think everyone here should take the time and post something on. I just read a few things and it drives me crazy how misinformed and disconnected these people are. I would recommend making a post on this website that defends the right that we enjoy, hunting. Be somewhat respectful when presenting your argument. Remember the majority of people out there are not on either side of this issue. It is our job to convinve them to come to our side on this issue. We can do this by being respectful, sincere, and educated. Let the tree hugging PETA people do the name calling, it will make our job that much easier.

I want to lock these people up with a wolf!
valerie smith-williams texas /NotSure/ animals deserve just as many rights as people do
Smoke another fatty!! JP
Autumn wales/ No/ I think hunting is wrong and is a hidious thing it should be stopped asap!! plz stop hunting now!!!
Start smoking fatty's
Deon Malan South Africa /No/ Hunting for food is not necessarily bad - hunting has been around forever and not only by us. Lions etc hunt all the time. What I object to is trophy hunting. It "industrialises" our wildlife. Africa is one of the few places left in the world where we still have true wilderness. That wilderness is threatened when people provide hunting as a service.[B]
Wrong again! There is such a thing as conservation! JP
Lastly, I wish they could spell!!

Where I can see talking over the views posed by these folds on our website I for one would not want them making posts on our website trying to convince us that their position is the correct one.
They like us have a right to those views. Turning their and our website into a slinging match no matter how respectful cannot lead to anything good.
I would avoid doing what your suggesting.
My 2 cents worth.

Bob, I agree w/ you. There will be nothing gained by arguing. I think Ted Nugent has the right Idea. Let them live it! JP

I think Bob's right on here. It's not worth the potential mess.
Sure, it's worth discussing. But their's isn't looking for a discussion. And Bob's also right...an "us vs. them" standoff only risks negative attention to Shootersforum.com. No one needs that.
People have their opinions. They do, we do. You do, I do. I would suggest that a web-based debate on something this contentious is virtually pointless. The web offers anonymity which encourages flaming and persanal attacks. If you really want to make a difference, have the face-to-face conversations with anti-hunting folks, when possible. But, in the meantime, perhaps reading some of their posts isn't such a bad idea. Any discussion you may have in the future will be aided by better understanding the other's POV. If I recall correctly, Sun-Tzu was a big proponant of better understanding of the opposition..before the conflict. Dismissing people out of hand because they hold a opposing position is a sure way to accomplish nothing.
My $.03...

I am with Bob on this one to. My problem is, when I listen to what they have to say and I have trouble holding my big mouth so for me its best to stay away.

Animals have the right to try to kill us too. Technically, animals have more rights than we do, since there are no laws written to limit the rights of animals.

Jonas,
your post ins one of those levelheaded, inciteful, intelligent posts that crack me up because it is so obviously true that for the most part, people on BOTH sides miss the point.
It won't be beneficial to log into that site and start "debating" things with the other posters. Just like it wouldn't do any good for them to start that here. It wouldn't be constructive or thoughtful by any stretch I imagine, so I for one won't be logging on there.
Face to face, one on one does work much better. Makes for more understanding.

They want attention. They want someone to argue with them. Just ignore it and let it go. Before you know it they will get tired of talking to themselves if no one else is listening.
Agree 100% with all the above posts - everyone has a right to their opinions, whether they agree with me or not - as long as they do it in a courteous manner and avoid name calling. It helps when they speak with facts instead of just emotions, also.
We have our website, they have theirs. Long live freedom of speech!

I say give the animals full rights and legal protection. Then we can arrest the wolves when they violate the rights of the ungulates they attack, kill and eat.
