Check out this video of the DEA's finest giving a lecture on gun safety:

This is what is expected to 'serve and protect' our citizenry.
Sad, very sad...

I didn't see the clip but shooting youself is inexcusable. If he followed a few basic safety precepts that would of never happened.i.e point gun in safe direction, treat all guns as if there loaded ect..Perhaps the goverment should of put him through a hunters ed class they teach gunsafety.I find his law suit laughable ,but they'll probally 12 idiots toside with him.Somuch for personal responsibillity

This is a prime example of STUPIDITY and to think this took place in a classroom setting is totally apauling, to say the least.

I read in the news yesterday that the guy who shot himself is suing because the video got out out on the internet. I'm not quite sure who he is suing, but I'm going to try to follow the case.

Hey, I might shoot myself in the foot for a million dollars or so. Just fooling.

I read the lawsuit. The argument being made is that the DEA was the sole possesor of the video and allowed it to be published to the detriment of the officer. His employer, the DEA, has an obligation to protect information about its employees, and didn't. Poor guy is pretty much finished in terms of his career. After wounding himself he tried to continue his presentation but the audience was clearly unhappy. I know I'd be leaving that room pretty quick.

Since I'm not trusted within 1000 ft of a school, maybe the police should not be allowed within the maximum, extreme range of a 40 cal pistol! He shouldn't have used a loaded gun in a classroom at all. I feel no pitty for him as he should have been arested for reckless endangerment, or a worse offence. But to file a lawsuite over his own stupidity is par for the coarse. The parents of the children in the classroom are the ones who should be suing!!!

He claims to be the best undercover officer in DEA history also, no wonder we are losing the "WAR ON DRUGS" this moron would have trouble finding aspirin in a drug store

Sadly the issue in the suit will be if the DEA allowed the video out when it was in their custody and did it defame him. If no one else had a copy, he could very well win his suit on that basis. Hopefully, someone else outside the DEA had a copy and released it onto the net themselves and they have the walnuts to come forward and say so. If it was me, I know I would come forward, not to save the DEA which is run and staffed by abject morons, but to make sure that this particular moron doesn't get paid for being one too. Then I'd file suit against him and NOT the government for PTSD for shooting himself in front of me and my kid in my kid's classrooom. No money in it but it would send a message.

The only one professional and qualified enough...

Professionally qualified screw up!
Man up, take responsibility for your screw ups.

The blooming idiot is appearing on television today to tell his side of the story and promote his law suit, on (no surprise here) NBC's Today Show!

I don't know about some of you guys here, but i'm am sick to death of that video. I saw it on the net a long time ago before all this sue talk was started. I then saved it and brought it to school and we hooked up the TV to the computer an played the video over and over for the class. I love the part how he says he is the only person who knows how to handle the gun and then.........POW!!

I agree! I think Maser makes a good point! The man can't handle a firearm!! Any more questions. He should be taken to task. JP

My first thought was that he didn't stand the chance of a snowball in **** of winning his case but then it occured to me that perhaps he lives in the PRNYC or the PRC!! :p

He's lucky he didn't hit any kids in that room or else he would be the one sued. We as good, safe firearms handlers know NEVER to demonstrate a firearm while it's loaded. Like I was told before, it's only an "unloaded" gun that causes injury or death.

I also want to make clear about my comment above where I talked about that part I loved in that video. I did NOT think it was funny at all, I was just discusted at the fact that this moron can actually be allowed around firearms and also probly class 3 firearms too since he's a DEA.

Just very sad and gives all the anti gunners out there fuel for the fire.
