G'day all,

I have the opportunity to buy a NIB Uberti 1885 Highwall Sports 30" 38-55 here in Oz (yes I know they are only US available in 45-70, 45-90, 45-120).

Would this be a good, quality buy, for target shooting with smokeless & BP? The 38-55 cartridge has been an interest of mine for a while now, though I've no experience with it. Normally reload smokeless .357mag, .45Colt, .308Win for revolver, levergun and mauser.

Hit me!

I've been told the Uberti High Walls are well made arms that shoot well. The 38-55 would probably make a nice target round, as long as you aren't trying to knock over steel targets at longer ranges.

I have a Uberti High Wall in 30-40 Krag and I think it's a fine rifle. It looks good and shoots good. I am happy with what I got for the money.
