New member, new gun and the first Thread. New gun, this setup consist of a T/C Encore 15" barrel chambered in 25.06 Rem. with Nikon 2.5 x 8 x 28 optics. I sold my Big Game Rifle in hopes of adding more excitement to my hunting adventures. I'm approaching the 50 year mark and looking for some change (Mid Life?). I don't really know where to start. I would appreciate any advice on load suggestions breaking in the barrel etc... Anyone have any preference on shooting sticks?
Looking to use this gun for Deer Hunting and Coyote.

The 25-06 in the ENCORE will give you the performance of what a 25-08 (25 Souper) would do in a rifle.
That being said you will be above 250 Savage rifle performance and close to 257 roberts.
100 grain NBT is a great hunting bullet. I have a 250 Savage AI in a XP and it has great accuracy out to 500 yards (little further).
Use the same powders for a SP (specialty pistol) as you would for a rifle.
Shooting prone off of a pack would give you more stability if you can shoot that way and see your game.
TC's are very sensitive to pressure onthe forend and changin POI.
So practice from the bench not only with your bags but also w/your field rests to ensure there is no change in POI.
If you think your bore is really rough David Tubb's final finish product is good for factory barrels but I wouldn't use it on a custom one since most of the time custom barrels are already lapped.
Welcome to the SP world!
