View Full Version : M1a
I have a M1A/ M14 That will not eject the round after it fires,
The case has markings where the extractor tried to pull it but the case is stuck in the chamber. A light push with a cleaning rod will remove the case.
A little history on the rifle,
The rifle belongs to a guy I work with, his dad got it when he was in the US army as part of the Alaska scouts. He remembers as a kid going out fore 3or 4 day in a 17-foot boat and his dad using the rifle to kill walruses and seals

Many semi-auto problems can be simple.
1. Clean the gun
2. Clean it again, paying attention to the chamber area.
3. Clean it a third time, paying attention to the extractor.
Esp. as this gun has a histroy of salt water use.

Yeah I could have had a point but didn't want to start any flamefest. :)

True enough, would not have started a flame war...although...don't know when that unit disbanded...reasonably sure shooting walrus out of the baot would have been legal (at least back then...and with inuit hunters)...and no semi-auto should be expected to last all these years without a tune-up/spring change/gunsmith check-out.
