What kind of a rifle is it that has manufacturer's name Loewe Berlim, with model Estados Unidos do Brazil? What is it's value? Was it made under contract for Brazil? If so, who was the manufacturer. I think it is a 7.62 x 39. Is it worth adding to my collection?

With those markings, should be a Brazilian contract mauser.... and not likely chambered in 7.62x39, at least not originally.
I'm not competely familiar with Brazilian military mausers, but most export mausers were 7x57 (spanish, mexican, some south american, etc.), 7.65x53 (turk, argentine, etc.), and 8x57 (pretty much the rest of the world).
Any more information?

There were also some Colombian reworked mausers. Some were made using brazillians. They were made to fire 7.62x61mm(30-06). Kinda neat, but not awfully valuable. Some do make decent shooters.

These are usually 1893 or 1895 Mausers, except for the Argentine, which were 1891 Mausers. The maker is Loewe.
