Has anybody ever used a cast bullet for a Desert Eagle in 44mag? I was curious as to if there was any reason why you couldnt use them, as in the gas system or any other reason. Any info would be great.
Thanks

The Desert Eagle is a gas operated handgun. The port where the gas enters is right in front of the chamber. Theoretically cast bullets could scrape on this opening and clog the gas port with lead. That lead would be very hard if not impossible to remove, resulting in a ruined barrel. Well it would be a single shot pistol anyway. For that reason I've never tried lead in my .50AE Desert Eagle.

I guess Ill stick to XTP or Barnes bullets. Not that they are bad, but not what I want in a 44mag. Ill keep the heavy hitters in my 500 Smith.
