Being Mother's day I'm holding down the fort while wife and daughters shop- doing the dinner when they've had enough shopping. Anyway I started entering date in the Lee Shooter program I've had for awhile but never used. I'm not a computer whiz so the learning curve has to be good or I heave it! So far I'm impressed. It's not perfect but I think I'm going to like the reloading reports and I know I've needed to make a log of my guns for years. I just have to make sure my wife doesn't see the gun log until I'm dead or I might as well be! Does anybody else out use the Lee program and what do you think of it?

Mike,
I have several copies, both floppy disk and CD. I like the data entry pages also. What I really like is the trajectory chart. They are small and easy to clip and carry.
The Lee program will not match RCBS Load for versitility or features but it is useful.
The Lee program is a good value and as a starter is one of the better programs. I never did warm up to the bullet manufactrers programs (I have the Sierra Infinity and have friends with several others) as they deal only with their own bullets. The Lee and RCBS Load programs have a large bullet data base.

I have it too but I haven't played with it much yet. William, I also have the Sierra and mine has all the bullets from every maker in it. How old is yours and have you went to the Sierra website and updated the software?

I have had the Infinity program quite a long time. I never was really saisfied with the way it is laid out. I never went online to update it as this was pretty early in my comper days. I bought the Lee program first as a floppy disk, then the Sierra then the RCBS. The RCBS has required the most study to make use of all the features. RCBS Load has a target tool that measures your targets group size. You can store targets etc. Very nearly all of the reloading manuals ever printed have had their load data entered into the load data base. The external ballistics generator is quite useful and easy to use. I just got lazy I guess and use Load as my primary program. I still like the Lee program for its small printable trajectory chart and the Inventory record.

I think I got my Sierra program within that last year or two so it's fairly new. I may take a look at the RCBS program though.

I have used the Shooter program for a long time. As a database manager it is about as easy and good as it can be. I actually don't use it anymore but I just can't make myself remove it from my PC because of a couple of features in the program and my older, abandoned loads. What I open Shooter for most of the time now is simply the Lee Reduced Load calculator. I've found it to be extremely accurate and not available in the program I'm now using.
I now use Shooting Lab from RSI (http://www.shootingsoftware.com/ballistics.htm) and Load From a Disk (http://www.loadammo.com/). I also have the RSI/SWP pressure trace equipment and have dropped away from using traditional loading manuals and data. I've become a near 100% cast boolit shooter and those texts are just about worthless for developing loads. I use the Load From A Disk to generate my data for the specific boolit, cartridge, and firearm. From that information I use the RSI/SWP equipment to develop, advance, and record the data. I remain a sucker for Hodgdon's Reloading Annual even though the loads for my lever-guns don't change.

I have and use Lee Shooter, but I mainly use Robs Reloading Organizer. Theres to many features to go into but it is worth every bit the 30.00 registration fee. One great thing about RRO it works in conjuntion with my shooting chrony and puts in all the data for me. Heres the link to the writeup I done for it on my blog.
